Promoting Transparent and Ethical Intercountry Adoptions

IVLP Regional Project for Africa (Côte d’Ivoire (2), Ghana, Madagascar, Republic of the Congo, Senegal, Togo (2), Zambia) with Meridian International Center. Meeting with D. A. Blodgett St. Johns June 10. 

This virtual project will serve as an opportunity for representatives from countries that are a part of the HCCH 1993 Adoption Convention to capacity build as well as participate in discussions that promote child permanence through ethical and transparent intercounty adoption practices.  Project participants will engage with United States adoption stakeholders such as: local, state, and federal government representatives, child welfare officials and advocates, adoption service providers, family court judges, and adoptive families. Participants will learn more about U.S. regulations and judicial procedures that promote ethical and transparent adoptions.
