This is a virtual project for 2021. Effective response and recovery from natural disasters, emergencies, and crises require government at all levels to work in collaboration with leaders in the private, nongovernmental, community, and civil society sectors.  This virtual project will highlight U.S. pre- and post-disaster strategies for managing and responding to natural and man-made disasters; mobilizing resources; and assisting community members with the economic, social, and psychological repercussions of devastating events.  Participants will explore the latest predictive modeling programs, meet with federal and local response agencies, conduct meetings with emergency command and trauma facilities, and examine shelter models.
