Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program

Early in July, we were excited to be participating in a program we have hosted since its inception (Hosting one of the very first IYLEP High School Arabic cohorts in 2017). We welcomed close to 30 Iraqi teenagers and adult mentors as part of the World Learning administered IYLEP High School Arabic. The English-only IYLEP was founded in 2007. Participating students "develop skills in leadership, civic education and responsibility, diversity awareness and tolerance, and civil engagement".

The program was put on hiatus last year due to COVID-19 and we are undertaking the first virtual iteration of it. During their two weeks with us, students will be meeting a variety of local organizations that work with youth, connect with volunteer Arabic-speaking hosts, and will be doing a few cultural stops and site visits while they're with us.
