This Virtual Salon Series for up to 250 IVLP alumni over the course of four weeks will focus on how both private and public sector entities can work together to engage and inform youth on ways to further civic and political participation by emphasizing the importance of pluralism, tolerance and volunteerism as components of civic life in the United States. During week two, we will participate in a panel discussion with interactive breakout sessions on how to foster alliances and how to harness the power of social media for youth activism, with speakers from Kalamazoo, Detroit and Portland, OR. We are delighted to have Stephanie Williams of Mothers of Hope joining us and discussing how her team used innovative social media strategies to engage young people around the 2020 census and the 2020 election.
